Milaena Hamilton is a digital media professional and video producer based in the Washington, DC metro area. She spent seven years working at National Geographic, where she was part of an award-winning team producing documentaries, social media content, and digital video series. She produced episodes of Nat Geo Explores, a online video series that sought to explain mysteries in the worlds of science, history, culture, and animals.

Prior to joining National Geographic in 2016, she was at the helm of Animal Planet L!VE, an online destination for some of the internet’s most compelling live animal webcams. Serving as audience development coordinator for the platform, she had the opportunity to work on the digital promotion and day-to-day operations of several high profile events and live cams including Giraffe Birth LIVE, Labor Live, Puppy Cam, Kitten Cam, and holiday favorite, Reindeer Cam!

In 2010, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with a primary focus in Media Studies. While on campus, she served as Research Director for the University of Maryland’s programming board, Student Entertainment Events (SEE), and earned a citation from the College Park Scholars in the Arts program.
